Snowflake science

As the weather in Boston turns colder and the forecast begins to predict snow in our future, I came across a very cool website that uses a special microscope to photograph of snowflakes, such as the one below. Follow the link to check out the incredible snowflake gallery, learn more about snowflake microscopy and find out the answer to the age old question: is every snowflake unique?

Check out the gallery, learn about attempts at making designer snowflakes or read the snowflake FAQs, all at SnowCrystals.com, a website created by a Caltech professor.
